Thoughts for the week of June 10

Earlier this week Montgomery County, Maryland dedicated what is possibly the first public school in the country named after a Holocaust survivor, the Flora M. Singer Elementary School.

Is the popular Game of Thrones HBO series too violent? As David Gibson wrote in the Washington Post, George R.R. Martin (author of Game of Thrones) doesn’t use Twitter because he kills all 140 characters.

Boston Teabow party? Former NY Jets quarterback Tim Tebow has signed with the New England Patriots. As the second backup quarterback to Tom Brady he probably won’t see much playing time, but will coach Bill  Belichick find a way to mine his potential?  The fans think so.  Sales of the new Tebow Patriot jersey are brisk.  Will they cover the cost of acquiring him?

For those following such things, the top baby name for boys in 2012 was Jacob, while Sophia topped the list for girls.
